Iran: Political prisoners denied vital medical care

Iran’s authorities are callously toying with the lives of prisoners of conscience and other political prisoners by denying them adequate medical care,
putting them at grave risk of death, permanent disability or other irreversible damage to their health, according to a new report by Amnesty International published July 18, 2016.
The report, Health taken hostage: Cruel denial of medical care in Iran’s prisons, provides a grim snapshot of health care in the country’s prisons. It presents strong evidence that the judiciary, in particular the Office of the Prosecutor, and prison administrations deliberately prevent access to adequate medical care, in many cases as an intentional act of cruelty intended to intimidate, punish or humiliate political prisoners, or to extract forced “confessions” or statements of “repentance” ...

Women were prominent in Iranian opposition's annual freedom rally
Over 100,000 Iranians and supporters of the Iranian opposition gathered on July 9, 2016, in Le Bourget, Paris, to mark the anniversary of the beginning of the Iranian Resistance against the clerical regime in Iran.
The keynote speaker to the rally was the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance Maryam Rajavi who vowed to continue the struggle until a republic based on separation of religion and state, democracy and gender equality is established in Iran. She called on the West to abandon the policy of appeasement which emboldens the Tehran regime to intensify the suppression of the Iranian people while continuing the policy of exporting terrorism to the region....
